Dr. Leif Magnusson is originally from Hudson, Wisconsin. After graduating from residency, he spent four years in Enid, Oklahoma working at Vance Air Force Base, and completed one deployment to Africa. Dr Magnusson’s professional interests include osteopathic manipulative therapy, sports medicine, behavioral health, and preventive medicine.

Dr. Magnusson joined Prevea Family Medicine Faculty in August 2020.

Joan Hamblin, MD – Associate Program Director

Undergraduate: University of Chicago

Dr. Hamblin was named program director in 2012. Prior to joining the faculty in 1997, Dr. Hamblin practiced with the Indian Health Service in Oklahoma and served on faculty at the Bowman Gray School of Medicine, the Medical College of Ohio, and the University of Tennessee, Memphis. Dr. Hamblin has an added certification in geriatrics and is the Medical Director of the Prevea Health Family Medicine Geriatric Assessment Clinic, which is a member of the Wisconsin Alzheimer’s Institute, a consortium of memory clinics.

Dr. Hamblin has published several cancer screening articles and has given a number of presentations on aging and dementia. Dr. Hamblin was given a Medical College of Wisconsin Outstanding Teaching Award for Medical Students in 2019.

William E Cayley Jr, MD, MDiv

Undergraduate: St Olaf College

Dr. Cayley practices at the Prevea Augusta Family Medicine and teaches at the Prevea Family Medicine Residency Program. Professional interests include evidence-based medicine, cardiovascular disease, diabetes, and writing.

Dr. Cayley is an active member of the Society of Teachers of Family Medicine, the Wisconsin Academy of Family Physicians, and the Christian Medical and Dental Association. Dr. Cayley is the Books and Media reviews editor for the journal Family Medicine, and an editor for the Cochrane Heart Group.

Dr. Cayley is the medical director for the Augusta Health and Rehabilitation nursing home.

Personal interests include running, boating, travel, reading, music, and writing.

Mark Gideonsen, MD

Dr. Gideonsen practices at the Prevea Augusta Health Center and also teaches at Prevea Family Medicine Residency–Eau Claire. Prior to joining the residency as faculty, Dr. Gideonsen served the inner city Chicago population and directed a maternal-child health fellowship.

In 2006, Dr. Gideonsen was named Educator of the Year by the Wisconsin Academy of Family Physicians.

Dr. Gideonsen is active with local and regional Amish communities and provides training for Amish traditional birth attendants. Dr. Gideonsen is the co-chair of the Eau Claire Healthy Communities Council.

Samantha Vouyiouklis, MD

Residency: Prevea Health Family Medicine Residency, Wisconsin Northern & Central Graduate Medical Education Consortium

Undergraduate: Scholars Program of Honors Academy at City University of New York, Brooklyn College

Dr. Vouyiouklis is originally from Brooklyn, New York. She attended medical school at Ross University School of Medicine in Dominica, West Indies. Her goal to one day practice full spectrum family medicine led her to Eau Claire, WI to complete residency training at Prevea Health Family Medicine Residency from which she graduated in June 2023. Dr. Vouyiouklis joined Prevea Family Medicine Faculty in August 2023. While Dr. Vouyiouklis enjoys caring for every member of the family, her particular interests include women's health and obstetrics. 

Corina Fisher, MSW, LCSW

Graduate School: Augsburg University Undergraduate: University of WI, River Falls

Corina Fisher, MSW, LCSW has extensive clinical experience working with a variety of patients including those with substance use disorders, personality disorders and adolescent through geriatric behavioral health. Corina has served in clinical and supervisory roles while working in the Wisconsin Correctional System, L.E. Phillips Libertas Treatment Center and Prevea Behavioral Care. Corina joined Prevea Health Family Residency Program faculty in August 2020.
